Sara McMenamin, PhD

Vice Chair, Medical Effectiveness and Public Health Impact

Dr. McMenamin is an assistant professor in the Division of Health Policy in UCSD’s Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, and she also conducts health policy research that focuses on health insurance coverage for tobacco cessation treatments in both the private and public insurance markets. Dr. McMenamin’s research also assesses the impact of the Affordable Care Act on tobacco dependence treatments in Medicaid programs. Additionally, she serves on CHBRP’s medical effectiveness and public health teams.

Dr. McMenamin received her PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from UC Berkeley as well as her MPH in Health Policy and Management from UC Berkeley.
